Dorset won the toss and elected to bat on a good wicket. Harvey Heaven opened the bowling and  took two early wickets. Kondreddy and Farney batted extremly well for Dorset both reaching their half centuries. Some good running between the wickets ensured Dorset got to a competitive total.

In reply, Gwent struggled against the extra pace of Stainer-Reid. He took 4 for 9 in his opening spell which included Gwent's top order. It was always going to be difficult from then and James Morris scored a steady 29 but to no avail as Gwent were dismissed for less than 100.
