Gwent won the toss and batted first on a warm day at Briton Ferry Town CC. The mainstays of the Gwent innings were Olly Jones with a superb 50 not out and Lloyd Sharp, 24, who put together a partnership of 89 runs to take the away side from a perilous 30 for 3 to 119 for 4. Gwent eventually finished on 162 for 7 from their 35 overs.

In the West Glamorgan reply, they finished 40 runs adrift of the target Gwent’s Evan Weeks  the most successful bowler returning figures of 2 for 17.

Mid Glamorgan

A great team performance saw Gwent beat Mid Glamorgan by 44 runs at Abertillery Park. In Gwent’s first innings, Ryan Price and Olly Jones amassed a fantastic partnership of 122 for the second wicket.  In the Mid Glam reply, Lloyd Sharp bowled a magnificent spell of 3 for 0. There were also two excellent catches off their own bowling for Evan Weeks and Dylan Price.

In Gwent’s second innings, Toby Smith played the anchor role, scoring 17 and a battling innings of 9 not out from Dylan Bradley they the home side were victorious.

won by 69 runs

On a tricky pitch for batting due to inconsistent bounce, Wiltshire batted first and scored 142 for 8 from their allotted overs; T. Knight top-scored with 39. Lloyd Sharp was the pick of the Gwent bowlers with 2 for 15. Other wickets were shared by Humphrey Myrddin-Evans, Harry Wallace, Dylan Price and Olly Collins.

The Gwent reply was held together by Myrddin-Evans and Sharp, who scored 24not out and 19 respectively. Wiltshire’s most successful bowler was B.Hughes with 3 for 7.

Gwent got off to a fantastic start when opening bowler, Humphrey Myrddin-Evans, restricted the hosts to 1 for 2 with a super first over. However, the home side rallied and a sublime knock of 106 not out from number 6 batsman, Arthur Sweeting, saw Gloucestershire reach a formidable 242 for 5. The attitude of the Gwent lads was commended by the umpires and opposition coach. Wicketkeeper, Tom Mason, was exemplary behind the stumps.

The Gwent reply saw wickets falling at regular intervals and they were eventually dismissed for 70 runs, despite some lusty late order hitting.

Gwent were asked to bat first and amassed a competitive 86 from their 20 overs.

Carmarthenshire were prevented from getting to their target by some excellent bowling and fielding by the Gwent boys and finished on 73 for the loss of six wickets.

Wales Girls Dev'ment

The Wales Girls Development Squad won the toss at Vicarage Fields and elected to bat. They made 58 for 7 from their 20 overs after an impressive innings by K. Fowler.

The Gwent boys batted out their full allocation of overs to make 122 for the loss of 3 wickets.

Mid Glamorgan

Gwent asked Mid Glamorgan to bat first on an unpredictable wicket at the picturesque Aberystwyth CC. They battled their way to a respectable 74 for 6 despite a super spell of 3 for 13 from captain, Olly Jones. Gwent struggled to 71 for 8 in their 1st innings.

Mid Glamorgan then took their aggregate total to 142 which was chased down by Gwent for the loss of three wickets

Gwent won the toss and asked Pembrokeshire to bat first. They were guided to 109 for the loss of only two wickets by an excellent 48 not out by O. Lewis.

In reply, Gwent batted out the 20 overs for an impressive 140 for 3. There were scores of 21for Ryan Price, 20 for Lloyd Sharp, 28 not out for skipper Olly Jones and a brisk 14 not out for Ollie Copping.
